Cosmic
is HAGA's children and family service, and operates in a
specially-built suite adjoining the main HAGA building. The staff work
with under-18s, offering advice, support and a listening ear - whether
it's a parent, carer or the child themselves who is misusing alcohol or
drugs.
For children
We offer play and/or
counselling sessions that allow them time and space to explore their
feelings through painting, clay, drama, craft and other activities. We
provide a safe and welcoming environment, encouraging children and
adults to take part in a variety of activities - and to have fun!
For adults
We provide support on
parenting issues; improving communication between adult and child;
children’s behaviour; how to play with children; how to listen to
children and keeping children safe. The Cosmic workers can offer advice
and support when there are problems in the family and provide childcare
while parents use other services at HAGA. This must be prebooked.
We regularly run six-part parenting skills workshops, and organise family craft and activity days during the school holidays.
Referrals can come from families, social services, other agencies and HAGA workers.
